| MTB Ride Calendar All mountain bike rides meet at LaBou on Sierra College & Douglas. Car pools will be arranged at that time. Be sure to bring 2 bottles of water, snacks, a spare tube, and a helmet. Rain cancels. Rides are rated by Technical Skills Level and Fitness Level. Techical Skills Levels: 1-5 where 1 = familiar with your mountain bike and shifting, basic comfort with hills and bumps, comfortable at a moderate pace (example- comfortable with the trails in Folsom Lake State park (Granite Bay). 3 = ride your mtn bike regularly (weekly), comfortable with moderate bike-handling challenges (corners, bumps, downhills at speed, clipless pedals) (example - enjoy all the challenges on Foresthill Divide trail) 5 = ride often, push your limits, crash occasionally but enjoy the story opportunity. (example - Downieville downhill without major lacerations... well... at least once). Fitness Levels: A-E These are relevant to your cardio (cycling) fitness and strength. A = able to comfortably complete a 5-8 mile ride with hills. C = able to comfortably complete a 9-16 mile ride with several steep (>7% grade) climbs. E = able to comfortably complete a 16-22+ mile ride with many steep climbs or several long (2+ miles) climbs or continuous climbing. Click on each ride to see the ride description.
