BAS MEMBERSHIP

There are several ways for you to support Bayside Adventure Sports and it's ministry.  One way is to donate your time by volunteering to serve and support the BAS ministry through your time and effort.  Contact John Kirkpatrick if your interested in serving.   Another way to support BAS is to provide the financial support necessary to operate this growing and thriving ministry.  A convenient way to do this is by purchasing a annual Bayside Adventure Sports member's card.

Your support of this ministry means that it can continue to offer quality events in a variety of ways that bring unique opportunities to our community for both fellowship and outreach.  It's hard to put a price on the memories we build with our fellow Christians or the people we first bring to Christ through this ministry.

Benefits of BAS Membership include:

  • Notification of upcoming events and priority early registration, ensuring you a spot on our more popular trips that "sell out."
  • Support of a ministry called to reach out to the adventure sports community
  • Support of expenses required to keep this ministry operating (see below for more details)
  • Discounts at BAS sponsoring merchants such as Clark's Snow Sports, the Adventure Sports store (on Watt Ave, not affiliated with BAS), Cope & McPhetres Marine, Mountain Mikes, Roseville Yamaha,  Sharp Bicycles, Bicycle Emporium, OTD Cycle Sports in Auburn, the Sports Rack and more.
  • Up to three membership cards for use by you and your immediate family (spouse & children)

Becoming a BAS Member:

A donation of $50.00 per family is suggested to secure your BAS membership.  Stop by the Bayside Adventure Sports table after any Bayside Church Saturday or Sunday service to receive your card or purchase your membership online.

BAS Membership FAQs (Frequently-Asked-Questions):

Q Do I need to be a member to participate in BAS events?
A Most events require no membership, however membership is encouraged.  Membership is required for our larger events such as Yosemite, Shasta, and Yerington require membership.

Q Where does this money go?
A Running the number of events this ministry does is a complex and costly task.  Your donations go towards expenses such as ministry management, event organization, event fees and permits, liability insurance, development of future adventure sports leaders, web hosting, equipment (first aid, radios, signage, etc...), promotional expenses, and occasional scholarships to events for those who can't afford to attend on their own.

Q Do I need a card to get a discount at sponsoring merchants?
A Yes you do, your card identifies you as a member of Bayside Adventure Sports - this protects both BAS and the merchant from abuse of these generous discounts.

Q Can I loan my card to a friend?
A No, your card has your name on it and you'll need to show ID when using it.  If your friend would like his/her own card, have them stop by and get one.

Q Do I need a new card each year?
A Yes you do, this card is our primary way of supporting the on-going operating expenses of the ministry.  Your card will be marked with a expiration date when you purchase it.

Q I can't afford $50, can I still get a card?
A Yes you can, please make any donation you can afford.

Q Can I get a card on-line, by postal mail, or email?
A Yes, you can - click here to go to the web page.  If you are having trouble, contact John Kirkpatrick or stop by the Bayside Offices to secure your card.

Q Can members of my extended family use my card (e.g. my Uncle, my cousin, etc...)
A No, the card is valid for one "nuclear" family - husband, wife, and children or step-children.  Any adults or children outside of the immediate family will need their own card.
