Putah Creek is located between Lake Solano diversion dam to Monticello Dam in the Shadow of Lake Berryessa. One of the small number of streams in America that produce large naturally occurring rainbow trout near urban settings. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to hone your skills, this class is perfect for every angler.

Dogs and alcohol are not permitted on BAS events due to liability issues.

We ask that minors come with a parent/guardian or other adult as we do not have systems in place to have unsupervised youth.

  • Valid CA Fly Fishing License
  • Waders and Wading Boots
  • 9’ 4X Leader
  • 3X,4X,5X,6X Fluorocarbon tippet
  • 9’ 4-6WT fly rod and reel with floating Fly Line matched to rod
  • Size BB split shot 
  • Strike indicator to your liking that is easily adjust for depth

Instructor

 Dave Shafer
Dave doubles as the Director of Bayside Adventure Sports as well as one of the Fly Fishing instructors. Dave spent the better part of the late ‘90s and 2000s guiding in Northern California including the Upper Sac. Dave was the director of the largest fly fishing program in the US and has taught thousands of people. Simply put, Dave is the most “okayest” fly fisherman around these waters!​
