January 2023
If you have been active with Bayside Adventure Sports in the last couple of years, you know we transitioned a custom event and calendaring software in hopes this would be a great solution for BAS. Our other non-profit, G1 Outdoors was supporting and helping build out this software. BAS was the first to test and use this software that we were hoping would be a great tool for helping other churches launch their own adventure sports ministries. G1 Outdoors brought on a few other chapters to test this software and have been analyzing all the feedback.
We were quite pleased with where the software was going, but we hit a point where we discovered that in order to make a better experience for both users and administrators, much more development was needed in the software. With many discussions and realistic analysis by some consultants, it was decided that G1O would not be able to further the development of the software. The software project needed a considerable amount of financial and personnel resources that was detracting from the primary mission of G1O.
G1O and BAS worked together to find an alternative solution. Much has changed in the past few years since we last researched software options. We are excited to find a new solution in a Church Management Software called Pushpay/Community Church Builder. In several discussions and demos with their team, we believe this platform will provide BAS with a great user experience for both members and volunteers.
What this means for you:
Hang in there with us! We are working diligently behind the scenes to try to make this as smooth as possible for all of you. You can send any questions you have to Pam at [email protected]
Many of you have shared feedback of your experience on the software in our year and a half of using it and we really appreciate it. It helped tremendously on what we needed to focus on in development and now in choosing a new software. We hope this will be a positive change for you, BAS, and future outdoor ministries!

What this means for you:
- Our current software at bas.g1outdoors.com will be turning off on Jan 31, 2023. There is a good chance that the new platform will not quite be ready - but we are hopeful we can have it live by March 1, 2023. We will provide a way for you to view events and RSVP from our main website, www.baysideadventuresports.com in the lag time.
- We will be able to migrate much of our user data over to the new system. We are pulling data from several systems we have, there is a possibility your data may not all transfer. We will provide more information to all our members as to what will be needed for you to start using the new system after we work with the Pushpay/CCB team to clarify processes.
- There will be both a web-based site and a BAS app that you can download to your phone/tablet for easy viewing of your profile, events, and groups. We have received really good feedback from churches using this software on the overall user experience.
