Men's Utah Ski Trip

February 2023
Overview:  An amazing, low cost 6 day/5 night Men’s Utah Ski & Snowboard Trip! Ski 4 full days, stay in the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood  (801) 871-1919. This is a great trip for men to connect with other men in a relaxed environment.  Adventure Sports Pastor, Greg Weisman, offers Biblical Devotionals Daily and the evening dinner conversations are guided to be honest and powerful as the men take time to look at God’s template for how he designed men to live.

For:  Skiers & snowboarders, ages 8 and up (minors must be accompanied by an adult). Limited to 25 participants
Trip Fee:  $99/person.  This trip is unusual for Bayside Adventure Sports (BAS) because it’s easier to have participants to be responsible for the Big Five aspects of the trip:
  1. Lift Tickets – see detail on the Ikon, Epic, Mountain Collective, Salt Lake Ski Super passes versus buying tickets at the resorts à la carte. Resorts options include Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, Deer Valley, & Brighton resorts. UTA Ski Bus fare is covered by having an IKON or the  Salt Lake Ski Super Pass  If you have any questions concerning your multi resort pass, contact Gary. Salt Lake Ski Super pass can be purchased at the Hampton inn.
  2. Flights or Driving to Utah – Most will fly Southwest or Delta to SLC but we have traditionally had at least one car driving there in the past. It’s a nine-hour drive, but winter driving can be unpredictable and hazardous.
  3. Lodging - Generally all stay at the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City Cottonwood (801) 871-1919 together, but some have stayed with friends living in Salt Lake City. Trip Leaders like the Cottonwood location because of proximity to Snowbird, Alta, Solitude, & Brighton resort. The Ski Bus is close to door to door.
  4. Meals - The group generally eats all meals either with the whole group or in small groups. The hotel provides a good breakfast, we eat lunches on the mountain, and dinners at local restaurants.
  5. Ski or Snowboard Gear -  We rarely have people rent gear. This trip is for enthusiasts, so normally participants own and bring their gear.  Southwest Airlines includes ski gear as free luggage, Delta only is free if booking with their American Express Delta Card otherwise the charge is the normal checked fee ($30 each way for first bag, $40 each way for second bag). Skis/boots/poles are considered one bag. Please check directly with Delta for details on size/weight.
Normally BAS would bundle all of these but it doesn’t work for this trip. But BAS does put the trip together, runs the trip, and has overhead relating to leadership, administrative costs, and insurance so we ask participants to consider a donation of $75, $150, or $250 to the ministry on top of the cost of the Big Four.

Please note that Covid regulations are constantly changing. Gary will text with updates he hears, but you are responsible for keeping up on current requirements for each location you are staying and skiing/boarding. All locations have information on their websites. BAS assumes no responsibility for issues arising from Covid issues.

Trip Insurance: Not required, but recommended. Some credit cards or travel clubs have insurance - be sure to read up on those policies to know your coverage. A separate stand-alone policy we recommend is can be purchased through World Nomads - www.worldnomads.com

Note about Transportation: When you carpool to and from any Bayside Adventure Sports event or to a starting point for a trip, it is at your sole risk, whether driver or passenger. Bayside Adventure Sports does not have insurance for carpooling arrangements and assumes no liability for them; carpooling, ride sharing, or anything similar is strictly a private arrangement among the drivers and riders.  If participants going on a trip want to arrange their own carpools, that is up to them.  They may use the dialog boxes on our the event site to converse with other attenders to a trip about ride sharing.  This is done completely outside of any representative of Bayside Adventure Sports being involved.  Trip officially starts and ends at Utah.

Note: Pets and alcohol are not permitted on BAS events.

Leaders: Greg Weisman, Gary Cousin, & Brian VonTress
