Kayak Camping: Sly Park - Lake Jenkinson
POSTPONED - New date TBD
Come enjoy the serenity of Lake Jenkinson at Sly Park Recreation Area near Pollack Pines. Spring is the perfect time to explore this lake before the summertime crowd invades the park. Plan on touring around the lake's pine-lined fringe and hiking to a roaring waterfall.
We will enjoy tent camping that evening along the beach with a water view. Campsites contain limited parking, fire rings with grill, bear-resistant food storage lockers, a picnic table. There are no shower facilities at this campground and limited cell phone coverage.
Recommended experience level:
No experience needed. However, if you would like to take part in our future kayaking trips to Lake Tahoe, Loon Lake or Silver Lake, this would be a great primer to update your kayaking camping skills.
You will need to provide your own kayak, drybags, camping gear, and food unless arrangements are made in advance. PLEASE choose a tent reasonable for how many are sleeping in it – a good guideline is no bigger than how many are sleeping in it +2
Cost: $65/BAS member or $85/non-member
Pre-Meeting
We’ll meet TBA before the trip to get to know one another & do a gear check
